SWO District Quiz teams: we will begin district quiz practice beginning Monday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at West Chester Church of the Nazarene on Tylersville Road. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call Bob or me.

2007 NYI Convention Report

Greetings Dr. Hansen, Kyle Jackson, District Council Members, and Delegates of this 2007 NYI Convention.  I would like to thank Kyle Jackson, and our District Council for the opportunity to serve as SWO Teen Bible Quiz Director during 2006-07.  This year proved to very exciting as we studied and quizzed over the Book of Acts. Special thanks to the Pastors and local church boards from the following churches, which allowed us to use their facilities for monthly quiz competition:

I would also like to thank the following Quiz Masters who officiated each month. Southwest Ohio is blessed to have some of the finest Quiz Masters to be found anywhere:

This past year was very competitive with the following churches winning various competitions:

Tournament of Champions- West Carrollton

District Championship Quiz -

Blanchester/Montana Ave. & Springdale/Tri-County represented SWO at the Regional Quiz with Blanchester winning the team championship and Springdale/Tri-County finishing in 4th place.

SWO excelled at this years Regional Quiz finishing in first place in Local Team competition and in 3 of the 4 divisional competitions. Individually 10 of the top 20 quizzers were from SWO.  For only the second time in history of Mt. Vernon Regional quizzing SWO placed 4 quizzers (out of 5) on the Regional team. Great job Bethany, Laura, Rachel and Jordan.

Next year promises to be another year full of not only quiz competition and awards but also of Christian Fellowship, Fun and Inspiration as we study from the Books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon.  This would be a great year to start a new quiz ministry as the material is the shortest in the quiz cycle plus the top 20 quizzers will qualify not only to quiz at the Regional Quiz at Mt. Vernon but also travel to Northwest Nazarene University to participate in the National Championship Tournament. 

Quiz leagues for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Quizzers will allow for quizzers from all levels to compete and have fun. See either myself or Todd Thomas after the convention and sign your church up for our mailing list. See you in September.
